A Milestone Moment for Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology (MUST) and the Faculty of Engineering!

We were honored to host a virtual meeting with the distinguished Professor Dr. Saifur Rahman, 2023 IEEE President, Director of the Advanced Research Institute at Virginia Tech, USA, and a globally renowned leader in engineering and energy innovation. On March 3, 2025, Dr. Rahman engaged in an insightful discussion with MUST’s leadership, including Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque, Acting Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Emadul Islam, Advisor for International Academic Development.

During the session, Dr. Rahman explored MUST’s vision for the Faculty of Engineering and the university’s roadmap to becoming a world-class institution. He shared valuable recommendations to accelerate progress and inspire excellence. The meeting also marked the inaugural session for the development of the Department of EEE and CSE, where Dr. Rahman delivered profound insights that will undoubtedly guide us toward achieving new heights of innovation and success.

Dr. Saifur Rahman’s remarkable achievements include serving as the President of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (2018-2019), receiving the IEEE Millennium Medal, and leading groundbreaking research at Virginia Tech. His wisdom and expertise are a beacon of inspiration for MUST’s academic and research endeavors.
