Vice Chancellor (Acting) of Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology Attends Northeast Indian Ocean Regional Event

The Northeast Indian Ocean Regional Dialogue on “Sustainable Blue Economy, Connectivity, and Resilience for SIDS” was held on 13–14 January 2026 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
The programme was hosted by the Ocean Policy Research Institute, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, in collaboration with Peace and Policy Solutions (PPS) and the Maheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA), Government of Bangladesh. The event was graced by Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of BIDA and BEZA, and Professor Mitsutaku Makino, President of the Ocean Policy Research Institute, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Japan. Dr. Emadul Islam, Senior Research Fellow at the Ocean Policy Research Institute, Sasakawa Peace Foundation, Japan, played a pivotal role in organizing the programme.
Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque, Vice Chancellor (Acting) of Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology, Kishoreganj, attended the event as an invited participant. Speakers from Bangladesh, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, the USA, and the Maldives shared valuable insights on marine spatial planning, climate resilience, and regional cooperation, making the two-day dialogue highly impactful.
