he Foundation Day of Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology, located in Bhairab, Kishoreganj, was celebrated today (September 16, 2025) with a daylong program featuring various festive events.
As part of the celebration, a tree plantation program, a three-match friendly cricket tournament, and a carrom competition were organized.
The day began with a tree plantation program inaugurated by Honorable Vice Chancellor (Acting) Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque, who said:
“Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology will become an important milestone in the expansion of higher education. Along with academic excellence, students must also progress equally in sports, culture, and social activities. Today’s event is a reflection of that message.”
The final match of the cricket series was then held between Meghna Strikers and Brahmaputra Titans, with Meghna Strikers emerging as series winners. Rafiqul Islam Maruf of the Department of Biochemistry was named Man of the Tournament. Professor Dr. A.F.M. Nazmus Sadat, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy, served as the umpire in all three matches.
In the carrom competition, Sanjana Sadhika, a student of the BBA Department, won the championship title.
Later in the afternoon, a prize distribution ceremony was held where trophies were presented to the winners. The Chief Guest at the event was Honorable Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque. Special Guests included Jabed Omar Kabir, representing the University’s Founder and Freedom Fighter Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal; Sharif Uddin Ahmed, Principal of Zillur Rahman Premier Bank School and College; Professor Dr. A.F.M. Nazmus Sadat; and Md. Zakir Hossain, Registrar (Acting) of the University.
The event was also attended by department chairmen, faculty members, officials, and students. This program was hosted by Md. Abdur Rashid, Chairman of the BBA Department.’
