Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology, located in Banshgari, Bhairab, organized a Doa and Milad Mahfil on May 5, 2026, on the occasion of the death anniversary of the beloved mother of the Hon’ble Chairman of the Board of Trustees. On this occasion, in a brief address, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor (Acting), Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque, expressed deep respect and prayed for the eternal peace and forgiveness of the departed soul of Alhaz Begum Kaniz Fatema. In his speech, he mentioned that she was a noble and compassionate personality. He further stated that her worthy son, a distinguished patron of education and a patriot, is the Founder of our university, former Member of Parliament, and a valiant Freedom Fighter, Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal. He also highlighted that Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal sir has set a remarkable example by establishing school, college, and this university in his birthplace, Banshgari, with the aim of spreading the light of education not only in the capital city of Dhaka but also among the underprivileged people in remote areas, and has continued his relentless efforts for the advancement of education.

The Doa and Milad Mahfil was later conducted under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. A.F.M. Nazmus Sadat. Among others present were the Registrar (Acting), Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain; Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Akim M. Rahman; Chairmen of various departments, faculty members, officers, staff, and students of the university. The program was moderated by the Chairman of the Department of Business Administration, Mr. Md. Abdur Rashid.
