24th Asian Bioethics Conference held at SUB where Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology has participated in Research work Presentation

The three-day 24th Asian Bioethics Conference was held at the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) from February 5th to 7th of 2026. The theme of this conference was ‘Bioethics in Building Nation-States’. It was jointly organized by the Bangladesh Bioethics Society (BBS) and the Asian Bioethics Association (ABA) in collaboration with the State University of Bangladesh and the UBIO Ethics Institute (New Zealand, Japan, and Thailand).

The conference was attended by about 200 policymakers, researchers, doctors, environmentalists, educators, and students, including 13 foreign representatives. Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Special guests were Professor Daryl Mysore, PhD, Founder and President, American University of Sovereign Nations, USA; Secretary, Asian Bioethics Association (ABA); Professor Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan, PhD, Vice-Chancellor, State University of Bangladesh; and Professor Dr. Saeba Akhtar, Chairman, Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC).

In the referred conference, the Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology participated in the conference presentations. Dr. Akim M. Rahman, Dean, Faculty of Business presented research work. Dr. Akim M. Rahman and Abdullah Jaki jointly authored the referred research work. The title of the presentation / research work was “Promotional Activities of Pharmaceutical-company(s) Convincing Physicians Writing the Company(s) Products in Prescriptions for Patients: Looking Through Consumer Choice Theory Lens”.
