The fair was formally inaugurated by the Honourable Vice Chancellor (Acting) of the university, Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque.

On the occasion, students are being offered a 50% waiver on admission fees, along with special discounts for spot admission. In addition, tuition fee waivers ranging from 10% to 100% are available based on SSC and HSC (or equivalent) results, along with other waiver facilities under different categories.

It is worth mentioning that these attractive offers will remain valid only during the Admission Fair period, which will continue from April 26, 2026, to May 5, 2026 (subject to extension).

Following the inauguration, an interactive session was held with prospective students and their guardians. During the session, students showed keen interest in admission. After visiting the well-equipped laboratories and the campus, both students and guardians expressed their satisfaction.

Nazmus Sadat; the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, Dr. Akim M. Rahman; and the Convener of the Baishakhi celebration and Chairman of the Department of Business Administration, Mr. Md. Abdur Rashid. The event became lively with the participation of departmental Chairmen, faculty members, officers, staff, and students from various departments.

As part of the celebration program, the university also participated in the Baishakhi fair held on the banks of the Meghna River in Bhairab. A free health camp and admission promotional activities were conducted there. Visitors to the fair were provided with free services such as blood pressure checks, blood grouping, height and weight measurement, among others.

At the fairground, the Honorable Vice-Chancellor (Acting) exchanged New Year greetings with the organizers. Later, accompanied by university representatives, he visited the health camp and admission information center at Stall No. 01 and interacted with beneficiaries and visitors.

In his inaugural speech, Principal Professor Md. Moniruzzaman said—
“There is no alternative to awareness in preventing dengue. Especially if college-going youths become conscious themselves, they can play an important role within their families and communities. Today’s campaign will help students gain practical knowledge and develop preventive practices.”

Acting Registrar Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain of DMBU said—
“Dengue is a fully preventable disease. To raise awareness among students about correct information, preventive measures, and timely treatment, we are regularly organizing college-based programs through our Social Awareness Club. Similar social and health awareness activities will continue in the future.”

Throughout the daylong campaign, students were informed about identifying dengue symptoms, keeping homes clean, preventing waterborne diseases, ensuring a safe environment, and steps to take in emergencies.

Additionally, students received free services including blood group testing, blood pressure measurement, weight check, and general health examinations. Participants were also able to receive immediate health consultations from medical professionals present at the camp.

In honor of this national success, a special reception ceremony was organized today at the university’s Digital Conference Room. All members of the award-winning teams were formally felicitated for their outstanding performance.

The event was graced by the Honorable Vice Chancellor (Acting), Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque, as the Chief Guest. University Registrar Md. Zakir Hossain attended as the Special Guest. The ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. A F M Nazmus Sadat, Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy, Dean of the Faculty of Science, and Director of IQAC, DMB University.

During the ceremony, the members of both SQCC teams shared their experiences, learnings, and the journey behind winning national recognition. Faculty deans, department chairmen, teachers, students, administrative personnel, and other staff were present to congratulate and encourage the teams.

This year’s 15NAQCE was convened by Prof. Dr. A F M Nazmus Sadat, who also delivered the keynote paper titled “Sustainability Through a Quality Culture in Education: A Framework for Institutional Resilience and Enduring Relevance.”
Additionally, Ms. Afroza Sultana, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy, presented a technical paper titled “Making Every Student a Quality Auditor for Institutional Longevity” and served as a judge in the panel discussion segment.

Pharma Quality Circle (PQC) – Gold Award
Presented the case study: “Arranging a Successful Health Camp at Bhairab Boishakhi Mela.”

MUST Cultural Quality Circle – Silver Award
Presented the case study: “Arranging an Educational Study Tour to the Srimangal Tea Garden.”

The two teams were facilitated by Ms. Afroza Sultana and Dr. Md. Atiqur Rahman, while Prof. Dr. A F M Nazmus Sadat served as the coordinator for both teams.

This achievement not only highlights the commitment of the Department of Pharmacy towards quality enhancement but also strengthens the university’s position in promoting a culture of excellence through active student engagement.

As part of the celebration, a tree plantation program, a three-match friendly cricket tournament, and a carrom competition were organized.

The day began with a tree plantation program inaugurated by Honorable Vice Chancellor (Acting) Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque, who said:
“Dr. Momtaz Begum University of Science and Technology will become an important milestone in the expansion of higher education. Along with academic excellence, students must also progress equally in sports, culture, and social activities. Today’s event is a reflection of that message.”

The final match of the cricket series was then held between Meghna Strikers and Brahmaputra Titans, with Meghna Strikers emerging as series winners. Rafiqul Islam Maruf of the Department of Biochemistry was named Man of the Tournament. Professor Dr. A.F.M. Nazmus Sadat, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Chairman of the Department of Pharmacy, served as the umpire in all three matches.

In the carrom competition, Sanjana Sadhika, a student of the BBA Department, won the championship title.

Later in the afternoon, a prize distribution ceremony was held where trophies were presented to the winners. The Chief Guest at the event was Honorable Vice-Chancellor (Acting) Professor Dr. Muhammad Azizul Hoque. Special Guests included Jabed Omar Kabir, representing the University’s Founder and Freedom Fighter Dr. H.B.M. Iqbal; Sharif Uddin Ahmed, Principal of Zillur Rahman Premier Bank School and College; Professor Dr. A.F.M. Nazmus Sadat; and Md. Zakir Hossain, Registrar (Acting) of the University.

In a joyful and memorable moment, Ms. Nakayama officially inaugurated the center by cutting the ribbon. Both she and Dr. Emadul delivered inspiring speeches, offering thoughtful guidance on the future of the center and expressing their optimism about its potential to build strong educational and cultural bridges between Bangladesh and Japan.

Dr. Emadul Islam has been closely involved with the university since its inception and continues to serve as its International Academic Advisor.
